Kurama — Banpresto figure

About this YuYu Hakusho figure

Kurama is a YuYu Hakusho piece, released under the Q Posket line. It stands about 5.5 in. Nothing about it is kit work: the pose was set at the factory, the paint went on there too, and the only thing left for an owner to do is seat it on the base.

What the listing specifies

Taken from the product listing, trimmed of the sales language:

• Standing at approximately 5.5" tall, Kurama is seen in his popular pose
• Q posket is a collectible figurine line created by Banpresto. With glossy eyes and charming cheeks, the finest quality and meticulous design of all your favorite characters!

Looking after it

Sunlight is the enemy here. Pigments used on prize runs are not formulated for years of UV, and a figure parked on a bright windowsill shifts colour long before a shaded one does. A dry brush beats a duster: anything woven will snag a hair spike eventually.

Where this Banpresto figure sits in the hall

On the YuYu Hakusho shelf this is the 9th dearest of 16 Banpresto figures, and the shelf as a whole runs $14 to $52. For scale, the deepest shelf in the hall is Dragon Ball with 115 collectable figures on it; a Dragon Ball piece from the same line as this one is built to the same height and finish, which is the quickest way to judge a Banpresto format before committing to it.
