The Monkey D. Luffy Gear 5 II — Banpresto figure

About this One Piece figure

This is The Monkey D. Luffy Gear 5 II, out of the One Piece roster, released under the King of Artist line. It stands about 5.9 in. What ships is what you see in the photographs — a single fixed pose, no articulation, no accessories to attach beyond the base it stands on.

What the listing specifies

Taken from the product listing, trimmed of the sales language:

• King of Artist The Monkey D. Luffy Gear 5 II!
• Standing at approximately 5.9" tall, Luffy is seen in his iconic pose!

Looking after it

Two things shorten a prize figure's life: a sunny shelf and a damp cloth. Keep it shaded, and when dust settles use a dry make-up brush — cloth fibres hook on sculpted hair and fingers and take them off.

Where this Banpresto figure sits in the hall

On the One Piece shelf this is the 90th dearest of 176 Banpresto figures, and the shelf as a whole runs $11 to $91. For scale, the deepest shelf in the hall is Dragon Ball with 115 collectable figures on it; a Dragon Ball piece from the same line as this one is built to the same height and finish, which is the quickest way to judge a Banpresto format before committing to it.
