About this One Piece figure
Monkey D. Luffy Gear5 comes from Banpresto's One Piece output, released under the Theorama Soul line. It stands about 7.1 in. Nothing about it is kit work: the pose was set at the factory, the paint went on there too, and the only thing left for an owner to do is seat it on the base.
What the listing specifies
Taken from the product listing, trimmed of the sales language:
- Theorama Soul Monkey D. Luffy Gear5
- Standing at Approx. 7.1" (W: 7.9"), Monkey D. Luffy Gear5 is seen in their iconic pose
- Theorama Soul is a new line from Banpresto that pushes the limits of figures with a luxurious base and beautiful effects
Looking after it
Sunlight is the enemy here. Pigments used on prize runs are not formulated for years of UV, and a figure parked on a bright windowsill shifts colour long before a shaded one does. A dry brush beats a duster: anything woven will snag a hair spike eventually.
Where this Banpresto figure sits in the hall
On the One Piece shelf this is the 24th dearest of 176 Banpresto figures, and the shelf as a whole runs $11 to $91. For scale, the deepest shelf in the hall is Dragon Ball with 115 collectable figures on it; a Dragon Ball piece from the same line as this one is built to the same height and finish, which is the quickest way to judge a Banpresto format before committing to it.
