About this One Piece figure

One Piece FigLife! Monkey D. Luffy Gear 5 Volume 1 One Piece Daughter! Vol.1 Luffy Gear 5, 12 cm comes from Banpresto's One Piece output. It stands about 4.7 in. Like the rest of the prize range it is a fixed pose, finished at the factory and shipped ready to stand — nothing to assemble beyond seating it on its base.

What the listing specifies

Taken from the product listing, trimmed of the sales language:

• Dynamic pose: Luffy's energetic pose with his outstretched arm and concentrated face conveys an incredible feeling of movement.
• Quality materials: Made of durable materials and careful workmanship to ensure a long service life.
• Loyalty to original design: This figure is an authentic reproduction of the character from ONE PIECE, true to the original anime/manga design.

Looking after it

Sunlight is the enemy here. Pigments used on prize runs are not formulated for years of UV, and a figure parked on a bright windowsill shifts colour long before a shaded one does. A dry brush beats a duster: anything woven will snag a hair spike eventually.

Where this Banpresto figure sits in the hall

On the One Piece shelf this is the 152nd dearest of 176 Banpresto figures, and the shelf as a whole runs $11 to $91. For scale, the deepest shelf in the hall is Dragon Ball with 115 collectable figures on it; a Dragon Ball piece from the same line as this one is built to the same height and finish, which is the quickest way to judge a Banpresto format before committing to it.
