About this My Hero Academia figure

This is Tamaki Amajiki vol. 8, -Plus, out of the My Hero Academia roster, released under the The Amazing Heroes line. It stands about 5.5 in. It is a display piece rather than a toy — the pose is the product, and there is nothing to articulate or swap afterwards.

What the listing specifies

Taken from the product listing, trimmed of the sales language:

  • The Amazing Heroes Plus vol.8 Suneater!
  • Standing at approximately 5.5" tall, Suneater is seen in their popular pose

Looking after it

Sunlight is the enemy here. Pigments used on prize runs are not formulated for years of UV, and a figure parked on a bright windowsill shifts colour long before a shaded one does. A dry brush beats a duster: anything woven will snag a hair spike eventually.

Where this Banpresto figure sits in the hall

On the My Hero Academia shelf this is the 3rd dearest of 81 Banpresto figures, and the shelf as a whole runs $18 to $71. For scale, the deepest shelf in the hall is Dragon Ball with 115 collectable figures on it; a Dragon Ball piece from the same line as this one is built to the same height and finish, which is the quickest way to judge a Banpresto format before committing to it.

    I want to go home..

This Amajiki figure was a lot bigger than I expected, but he is super cool, his details are great, he is bigger than my mirio and hado, he looks ready to fight. 10/10

    Phenomenal figure

First off, I thought people were exaggerating when they said it was bigger than expected, but it truly is. I have another figure from the same series (Amazing Heroes Todoroki vol. 15 if you’re wondering) and Tamaki nearly towers over him. The figure itself comes with a stand and requires minimal assembly. It’s incredibly detailed and well made, as well as being in a fluid, dynamic pose, and looks 100x better in real life. It’s worth every penny. if you need a sign to buy this, this is it.
