Maetel (Version A), 5.5 inch — Banpresto figure

About this Galaxy Express 999 figure

Maetel (Version A), 5.5 inch belongs to the Galaxy Express 999 side of the floor, released under the Q Posket line. It is a display piece rather than a toy — the pose is the product, and there is nothing to articulate or swap afterwards.

What the listing specifies

Taken from the product listing, trimmed of the sales language:

• This figure is expertly crafted and meticulously sculpted to look like Maetel from the 1979 film "Galaxy Express 999"!
• Maetel features big, expressive doll-like eyes that bring out her charm
• Standing at approximately 5.5" tall, Maetel is seen in her popular pose

Looking after it

Keep it out of direct sun. Prize-figure paint is thin by design and the warm tones go first; a shelf across the room from a window will outlast one on the sill by years. Dust with a soft brush rather than a cloth — woven fabric catches on sculpted hair tips and snaps them.

Where this Banpresto figure sits in the hall

On the More Anime Figures shelf this is the 37th dearest of 169 Banpresto figures, and the shelf as a whole runs $12 to $88. For scale, the deepest shelf in the hall is Dragon Ball with 115 collectable figures on it; a Dragon Ball piece from the same line as this one is built to the same height and finish, which is the quickest way to judge a Banpresto format before committing to it.
